The One With the Creepy Holiday Card

Ross overcorrects with Mona at every step, agreeing to a joint holiday card, handing over his only apartment key and finally declaring love, while Rachel's pregnancy hormones run wild and Chandler tells his boss his marriage is over.

What happens

• Rachel admits to Phoebe that she is attracted to every man she passes, and Phoebe tells her the fourth month of pregnancy sends the hormones haywire.
• Mona shows Ross the photographs from their skating trip and asks him to send one out as a joint holiday card, and Ross agrees without wanting to.
• Chandler's boss Doug announces his divorce is final and invites the couple to dinner, and Monica tells Chandler afterwards that she will not spend an evening with him.
• Ross tells Mona he is not ready for the card, and when Mona responds by asking where the relationship is heading, Ross panics and agrees to the card after all.
• Ross asks Monica and Phoebe for a gesture that signals commitment without a conversation, rejects every suggestion they offer, and settles on having the talk instead.
• Chandler runs out of excuses and tells Doug that he and Monica have separated, and Doug immediately takes him to a strip club.
• Ross fumbles the conversation with Mona so badly that he hands her the key to his apartment, which turns out to be his only one.
• Phoebe brings a friend named Roger to the apartment as a partner for Rachel, and Rachel refuses to sleep with a stranger.
• Mona arrives to find a locksmith changing Ross's locks, and Ross covers the contradiction by telling her he loves her.
• Chandler confesses the whole evening to Monica and asks her to promise she will never leave him, and Monica agrees.
• Rachel describes to Joey exactly the kind of night she wants, both of them retreat to their rooms, and they come back out to agree that nothing was asked and nothing will happen.
