The One With the Stripper

Thursday, 15 November 2001

Rachel tells her father she is pregnant, panics and invents a wedding date, which sends him raging to Ross's apartment in front of Ross's new girlfriend, while Monica accidentally hires Chandler a hooker.

What happens

• Phoebe recognises a man in the coffee house as the stripper from Monica's bachelorette party, and Chandler learns Monica had one after they agreed to skip such parties.
• At dinner Phoebe blurts out Rachel's pregnancy, and Dr. Green demands a wedding until Rachel invents a date in February to calm him.
• Ross admits to Chandler and Joey that he has not told Mona about Rachel or the baby, because he is afraid of losing her.
• Monica, guilty about the bachelorette party, books a dancer for Chandler, and Chandler reluctantly agrees to the evening.
• Rachel takes back the wedding and tells her father there will not be one, then lets him believe Ross is the one refusing.
• The woman Monica hired walks straight into the bedroom and undresses, and Joey and Chandler work out that she is a prostitute rather than a stripper.
• Dr. Green arrives at Ross's apartment mid-date and shouts about the pregnancy, so Mona finds out everything at once.
• While arguing over who should send the woman home, Joey tells Chandler he misses their old closeness, and the two agree to set aside time for each other.
• Rachel comes to Ross's apartment and convinces Mona that she and Ross will not reunite, and Mona forgives Ross for hiding it.
• Rachel finally tells her father the truth, and leaves him ranting into an abandoned phone that Joey later picks up.
