The One Where Everybody Finds Out

Thursday, 11 February 1999

Phoebe spots Monica and Chandler through a window, and she and Rachel torment the couple with a fake seduction until Chandler cracks and declares he loves Monica, while Ross fights for Ugly Naked Guy's apartment.

What happens

• When the friends notice Ugly Naked Guy packing up, Ross decides to apply for his apartment across the street.
• Phoebe sees Monica and Chandler having sex through the window, and Rachel admits that she and Joey have known for a while.
• Joey wants everything out in the open, but Phoebe wins Rachel over to a plan to torment the couple instead, and she starts by openly flirting with Chandler at the coffee house.
• Ross learns that a hundred people have applied for the apartment and that his bribe, a small basket of mini-muffins, has bought him nothing.
• After Phoebe pinches Chandler, Monica works out that Phoebe knows about them and is playing a game.
• Joey confesses that Phoebe and Rachel both know, and Monica and Chandler decide to turn the trick back on them.
• Chandler phones Phoebe and invites her over for sex, and Joey then admits to Rachel that the couple know they have been caught.
• Ross strips naked to charm Ugly Naked Guy into giving him the apartment, and the others spot him through the window.
• Chandler surrenders during the date rather than kiss Phoebe, shouting that he is in love with Monica, which surprises Phoebe, who assumed it was only sex.
• Ross shows his new apartment to his boss, who offers him his museum job back, and then Ross sees Chandler with Monica through the window.
