The One With All the Kissing

Thursday, 1 October 1998

Rachel, back from Greece and freshly humiliated, lets Monica run her love life, then ignores her and tells Ross she is still in love with him while Chandler covers his secret romance with Monica by kissing everyone goodbye.

What happens

• Chandler and Monica share a bath in secret and Chandler shouts Joey out of the bathroom to keep the relationship hidden.
• Rachel tells Ross she is not angry about being left on the plane, then admits to the others that Greece humiliated her and puts Monica in charge of her love life.
• Ross sends seventy-two roses to Emily's parents' house because nobody will tell him where Emily is.
• Chandler kisses Monica goodbye and then kisses Rachel and Phoebe as well, so that kissing Monica looks like a habit rather than a secret.
• Monica orders Rachel to approach a man at the coffee house, and Rachel comes back with a date for the following night.
• Rachel invites Dave in, finds Ross with the roses returned as mulch, and cancels the date to sit with Ross instead.
• Rachel tells Monica she wants to say she is still in love with Ross, fires Monica as her decision-maker, and locks her out of the apartment.
• Monica gets Rachel to promise she will find one person who thinks the confession is a good idea before she makes it.
• The others plan a picnic to make up for Phoebe missing London, and when Phoebe calls it worthless they upgrade the trip to Atlantic City.
• Rachel tells Ross she still loves him without finding anyone to back her, Ross says he does not know what to do with it, and the two of them settle it by agreeing he is married.
• Phoebe's water breaks as the group leaves for Atlantic City, and they take her to the hospital instead.
