The One With the Holiday Armadillo

Thursday, 14 December 2000

Ross gets Ben for the holidays and invents the Holiday Armadillo to teach him about Hanukkah, while Phoebe tries to sabotage Rachel out of Joey's apartment and Chandler fails to bribe a maître d'.

What happens

• Ross learns he has Ben for the holidays and decides to teach him about Hanukkah rather than dress up as Santa.
• Phoebe announces her apartment is nearly ready, and Chandler lets slip that Rachel has been enjoying living with Joey, which sends Phoebe out worried.
• At the restaurant Chandler tries to bribe the maître d' for a faster table and botches it by holding the money in the wrong hand.
• Ben decides Santa must be angry with him, so Ross abandons the Hanukkah plan and promises him Santa is coming.
• Phoebe gives Joey a tarantula hoping to make the apartment unbearable, but Rachel is delighted by it while Joey hides in his room.
• Phoebe admits she is angry because she thinks Rachel prefers Joey, and Rachel promises they are still moving in together.
• With no Santa costume left two days before Christmas, Ross buys an armadillo suit and arrives as the Holiday Armadillo.
• Chandler turns up in a borrowed Santa costume, Ross asks him to leave, and Ben insists on Santa until Ross gives up and lets Chandler stay.
• Phoebe and Rachel find the dividing wall gone and a new skylight, so Phoebe keeps the one-bedroom alone and Rachel stays with Joey.
• Ross finishes the story of Hanukkah for Ben, who is thrilled, and the group gathers to light the menorah.
