The One With All the Cheesecakes

Thursday, 4 January 2001

Chandler and Rachel repeatedly steal a neighbour's misdelivered cheesecake, Monica forces Ross to take her to a cousin's wedding she was not invited to, and Phoebe double-books Joey against David's one night back from Russia.

What happens

• Chandler eats a cheesecake that was delivered to Mrs. Braverman downstairs, and Rachel calls him a thief before helping herself to it.
• Ross asks Monica about driving to cousin Frannie's wedding the next night, and Monica discovers she was never invited.
• Phoebe confronts Joey for abandoning their dinner for a date, tells him friendships outlast girlfriends, and Joey apologises and rebooks for the following night.
• Aunt Sheryl confirms the snub was deliberate, so Monica makes Ross cancel his date with Joan and bring her instead.
• Chandler and Rachel find the cheesecake they returned still sitting outside Mrs. Braverman's door and carry it back upstairs.
• Phoebe runs into David, in town from Russia for one evening only, and decides to rush her dinner with Joey so she can meet David at nine.
• At the reception Monica interrogates the other guests at her table about how they know Frannie.
• Joey learns at dinner that Phoebe has a date afterwards, accuses her of breaking her own rule, and Phoebe walks out to meet David anyway.
• Rachel makes Chandler split the cheesecake in half, then drops her piece on the hallway floor and knocks his out of his hand.
• Monica confronts Frannie at the reception and learns that Frannie has married Stuart, a man from Monica's past, which explains the missing invitation.
• David flies back to Minsk, and Joey finds Phoebe crying and comforts her instead of scolding her.
