The One With Ross and Monica's Cousin

Thursday, 19 April 2001

Joey lies about being uncircumcised to land a nude film role, Ross develops a crush on his visiting cousin Cassie, and Rachel and Phoebe throw Monica a bridal shower they forget to invite her to.

What happens

• Joey's agent calls with a callback for a period film, then adds that the part requires him to appear fully naked.
• Monica lets slip that she is expecting a surprise bridal shower, and Rachel and Phoebe realise they have not planned one.
• Rachel works out that the only open date is Friday, two days away, so she and Phoebe start making the decisions on the spot.
• Monica tells Ross that Cassie has to move into his apartment because Chandler cannot stop staring at her.
• The casting director tells Joey the director insists on an uncircumcised actor, and that his agent has already promised he qualifies.
• Joey admits to Monica that he lied, and Monica offers to build him a prosthetic rather than let him drop the part.
• Monica brings Joey a tray of prototypes to try on, and Joey settles on the one made of Silly Putty.
• Ross reads Cassie's behaviour as an invitation and lunges at her, and after she pulls away he tells her how long it has been since he had sex.
• Monica arrives at Phoebe's to find the shower already over and the guests gone, then decides she prefers it this way because she still gets the presents.
• Cassie moves in with Phoebe, and Phoebe finds herself just as attracted to her as Ross and Chandler were.
