The One Where Monica Sings

Thursday, 30 January 2003

Ross, having seen Rachel kiss a colleague, brings home a stranger to get even, and once he admits hiding a phone message from her, he and Rachel agree to stop living together.

What happens

• Ross tells Chandler he saw Rachel kissing a man from her office on the balcony, and decides to start dating rather than raise it with her.
• Rachel admits the kiss to Monica and Phoebe, who both tell her she has to talk to Ross about it.
• Joey books an eyebrow wax under Chandler's name and quits after one eyebrow because the pain is too much.
• Gavin brings soup to Rachel, who called in sick to avoid him, and after she hides him behind a curtain she admits Ross complicates things, so Gavin steps back.
• Phoebe talks Monica into taking the stage at Mike's piano bar, and Monica sings Delta Dawn.
• Chandler admits he earned his allowance as a boy plucking his father's eyebrows, and he evens out Joey's without hurting him.
• Monica reads the shouting about her see-through shirt as praise for her voice, so Chandler arrives and pulls her off the stage.
• Ross brings home Michelle, a woman dumped hours earlier, and Rachel walks in wanting to talk and finds her there.
• Ross confesses he threw away a message from a man Rachel met at a bar, and the fight ends with the two of them agreeing that living together no longer works.
• Rachel asks Joey whether she and Emma can stay with him for a while, and he says yes.
